New Orleans Police are asking the public's assistance with identifying and locating a suspect wanted for theft by fraud.
The City of New Orleans Department of Public Works (DPW) announces that beginning Monday, June 2, at 7 a.m., through Wednesday, June 5, at 5:30 p.m., Old Poydras Street will be closed to through traffic between S. Galvez Street and Bertrand Street. The temporary closure will allow DPW contractor Barriere Construction Co. LLC to complete street repairs as part of the DPW772: Right of Way Improvement Project. Local access will be maintained.
The City of New Orleans Mosquito, Termite and Rodent Control Board (NOMTRCB) reports that mosquitoes collected this week from the East Bank of Orleans Parish tested positive for West Nile virus (WNV). WNV cycles between wild birds and mosquitoes and can be transmitted to humans and animals by the bite of an infected mosquito. NOMTRCB will conduct spray missions tonight and tomorrow morning by truck, targeting adult populations of mosquitoes. NOMTRCB will also be conducting area-wide larvicide treatments by truck throughout the day tomorrow, targeting the larval stages of mosquitoes.

The City Planning Commission office will be closed on Friday, May 30, 2025, for a staff retreat.
Desk duty will also be cancelled, and no planner-on-duty will be available for consult in-person or by email/phone.
