2021 Neighborhood Leaders' Roundtables

Hosted by the Mayor’s Neighborhood Engagement Office, the 1st Quarter Neighborhood Leaders’ Roundtable provided an opportunity for leaders and residents to discuss public safety matters and to learn from each other. 

Police Superintendent Shaun Ferguson discussed police reforms, crime trends, ethical policing, and recruitment of new officers. 

Fire Chief Roman Nelson shared information not only about NOFD’s response to emergencies, but also its proactive emergency prevention work, its first responder role outside of fires, and its key role in incident management. 

Office of Criminal Justice Coordination Commissioner Tenisha Stevens informed all about its critical policy and coordination role within the local justice system including information sharing technology, electronic monitoring, and disparities in the criminal justice system.

Finally, Dr. Emily Nichols, Director of Emergency Medical Services (EMS), talked about her team’s vital role in saving lives pre-hospital as well as the role that EMS plays in prevention and public health.
