SWB Analyst (Database Manager)


The SWBNO is an 1100+ employee public utility responsible for the treatment and distribution of safe drinking water and water for fire protection throughout the city of New Orleans; for the collection and treatment of all wastewater for safe return to the environment; and for the drainage of the totality of the City of New Orleans.  In as much as the Board has recently embraced a new management team, we are hiring and retooling to re-energize and broaden our resource  team  toward  ensuring  that  the  services  we  provide remain viable for future generations. We are creating comprehensive delivery solutions for water, wastewater, drainage/storm water control systems, and community infrastructure through an expanding portfolio of project delivery systems.


Develop, implement, and maintain database reporting and tracking tools for Recovery projects, contracts, invoices, payments, and reimbursements.  Monitor project funding and encumbrances and, when necessary, coordinate with SWB Engineering staff to put the required funding in place.  Coordinate database development with Project Delivery Unit (PDU) staff as operational changes occur and/or  process improvements are made. Resolve invoice processing issues and communicate information to vendors.  Identify  bottlenecks in process and re- engineer processes.

Minimum Requirements

Five or more years experience in analyzing, designing, and developing financial or analytical procedures that support sound business practices. Experience in generating budgetary reports, including cash flows and projections.

Expert in Microsoft Excel and proficient in other Microsoft Office Suite programs. Proficient in QuickBase database application or equivalent. Experience working with AFIN or equivalent application.  Thorough knowledge of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Public Assistance policy regarding eligible cost and reimbursement.  Proven leadership and management skills.

Bachelors degree from an accredited college/university in relevant field of study. Advanced degree preferred will be substituted for 1 year of experience.
