Dental Care

Where can I get low cost dental care?

The Health Department operates two programs that provide low cost dental care: Health Care for the Homeless, which serves homeless individuals, and the Dental Program for Senior Citizens co-sponsored by the New Orleans Council on Aging, which serves people age 60 or above. For more about these programs, visit the Health Care for the Homeless page.

Three community health centers in New Orleans offer dental services. These centers charge fees based on your income and family size.

The Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals operates the reportable disease surveillance program, where you can learn which diseases are reportable and how to report cases.

The Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals Center for Environmental Health has a guide to mold issues and what to do if you find mold in your home or business. 

Where can I report a sanitation issue, such as garbage or illegal dumping?

Call NOLA 311 by dialing 311 from any New Orleans based phone. 311 handles requests for a number of issues handled by the city and can refer callers to other city departments. Learn more about NOLA 311 here.

The New Orleans Mosquito, Termite, and Rodent Control Board administers mosquito control activities in New Orleans. Learn more or contact the Board here. 

The Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals Office of Public Health makes West Nile surveillance reports, broken up by parish, available on their site.
