2017 Healthcare Plan for Employees of the City of New Orleans
The City of New Orleans offers a Healthcare Plan that covers medical, prescription drugs, dental, and vision insurance for employees and retirees, the employee's spouse or domestic partner, and their dependents. The plan offers in-network benefits, including office visits, preventative care, inpatient, outpatient, mental health, emergency services, and prescription drug coverage.
The City also offers a Flexible Spending Account that can reduce taxes for employees by allowing for the following pre-tax contributions:
- Healthcare FSA (Unreimbursed Medical Expenses) – up to $2,550 per year
- Dependent Care FSA (Childcare Expenses) – up to $5,000 per year
- Commuter FSA (Parking Expenses) – up to $255 per month
- Commuter FSA (Transit/Van-Pool Expenses) - up to $255 per month

The City of New Orleans provides vision care for eligible employees and their dependents. The plan offers in network and out of network benefits, and covers routine vision examinations, eyeglasses and contact lenses.
