Introduction

The City of New Orleans Capital Projects Administration (CPA) is responsible for delivering the City’s 125 project, $420 million Capital Program. CPA is responsible for the construction of new and renovation of existing Fire Stations, Police Stations, Courts, Jails, Recreation Centers, Parks and other Municipal Facilities.  CPA has a staff of 10 project managers with administrative support.  CPA is creating a project controls division to provide back of house support for the development and management of project schedules and reports.  CPA is seeking a project scheduler who is interested in assisting the department in fulfilling its mission to “Deliver the Capital Program on Time, on Task and on Budget” and it vision of “Delivering the Capital Program to improve the quality of life for the Citizens of New Orleans”    

Job Description

The Scheduler provides project administration support and services to the Project teams of CPA. Primary responsibilities include managing the CPA master schedule database, updating the master schedule, reviewing contractor submitted schedules for conformance with CPA scheduling specifications, producing individual schedules and other schedule reports (i.e. milestone schedules, 180 bid and award schedules, etc.)  exporting P6 information into excel reports and other relate task as directed.  This position will require working with the Department Director and CPA Project Managers.

Our applications include: Oracle P6 Primavera, Oracle Application Express, Oracle Cloud Services, Excel, QuickBase and Microsoft SharePoint. 

Minimum Requirements

Candidates should have working knowledge and experience with Primavera P6, reporting using Crystal Reports and SharePoint, special customized reports, other database programs, web-based tools and complex Microsoft Excel spreadsheets.

Preferred candidate shall possess a bachelor’s degree in information management, engineering, construction management, or computer science with a minimum of 1-5 years of experience or 5-10 years of experience in scheduling, project controls or data management. 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Development and maintenance of an existing scheduling custom scheduling requests that will be used by CPA to manage projects and city assets.
  • Create new schedules as required
  • Evaluate contractor baseline schedules for compliance with CPA scheduling specifications
  • Export P6 information into Excel to create special reports
  • Evaluate contractor project schedule updates and time extension request in accordance with schedule specifications
  • This scheduler will work very closely with Project Controls team during all the phases of the project management cycle.
