Project Management Supervisor

Entrance Salary

Salary Range $84,000 – 105,000 (plus Benefits)

Description

Professional, supervisory, administrative, and technical work directing and evaluating all activities of a major engineering division which includes overseeing a staff of professional engineering and construction management employees.  An employee in this class performs expert-level professional engineering management work over a specialty engineering division that oversees the design, construction and operation of a public works system. 

Core Functions

  • Supervises and directs the work of project managers and project support teams and provides the guidance, training, and resources needed to achieve successful project delivery
  • Tracks project schedules, milestones, and timelines for adherence to quality and delivery targets.
  • Creates performance goals and sets deadlines for project teams
  • Facilitates problem solving and project resourcing
  • Approves construction project plans and specifications
  • Review and approve project cost analysis and schedule
  • Coordinates and communicates effectively with project tea, including PDU, SWB, and other relevant departments, ensuring timely implementation of project timeline
  • Meets regularly with the Program Administrator and Deputy to discuss programmatic changes and ensures staff are aware and following changes
  • Attends pre-bid, bid openings, pre-construction meetings and progress meetings as required.
  • Provides technical assistance at the Contract Modification Review Committee meetings
  • Coordinates with design team to review design changes and scope adjustments
  • Responsible for Project Managers meeting schedule and deliverable goals while monitoring fiscal performance

Education / Experience

  • Registration as a professional engineer in Louisiana*
  • Seven (7) years of engineering experience as a professional Engineer. At least two (2) years of this experience must have included supervisory responsibilities. At least three (3) years of this experience must have been in the area of sewer, water and drainage infrastructure systems.

Qualifications

  • Project Management Certification preferred
  • Experience working on construction projects for the City of New Orleans and/or State of Louisiana is preferred.
  • Strong written and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Must possess the ability to prioritize assignments and build strong relationships.
  • Must exhibit strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint as well as project management systems such as project scheduling, scoping, budgeting, cost analysis, resource analysis, and reporting.
  • Orleans Parish Residency Required.
  • Candidate must relocate to or reside within Orleans parish within 6 months.
