Reconciliation Specialist

Description

Reconcile FEMA Public Assistance Project Worksheets (PWs) with supporting documentation. Research, review, and analyze AFIN, Great Plains, Infor transactions to reconcile against GOHSEP’s LouisianaPA.com website. Verify the accuracy of invoices and separate eligible & ineligible costs for expense reclassifications. Prepare, propose, and post adjusting journal entries to correct PW’s record of payment and expenditures in AFIN/ Great Plains/ Infor.  (re-classification of expenditures). Identify and correct unrecorded expenses and liabilities to post to the appropriate PWs.  Prepare ordinance requests for PWs, as needed.

Skills & Knowledge

Ability to perform detailed analytical procedures under the guidance of professional personnel with minimal supervision and assistance. Strong written, interpersonal, and organizational skills.  Thorough knowledge of FEMA Public Assistance policy regarding eligible cost and reimbursement.  Expert proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Access, and all other Microsoft Office Suite programs.  Proficient in Quickbase database application or equivalent.   Experience working with AFIN or equivalent application.  Proven ability prioritizing detailed assignments, while accurately and efficiently collecting and analyzing financial supporting documentation.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university in relevant field of study, a degree in accounting is preferred.          

A minimum two years actively working in an accounting environment.

Two or more years’ experience processing financial documentation and/ or working as an auditor, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and other routing financial transactions.              

Two or more years’ experience working on FEMA grant funded programs.
