Home » Mayor's Office » News » Traffic Advisory: Daily Road and Sidewalk Closures on Eastbound St. Claude Bridge
December 1, 2020 | From City of New Orleans
NEW ORLEANS — Beginning Monday, Nov. 30, 2020 through Thursday, Dec. 10, 2020 from 6:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. daily, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will temporarily close the right eastbound lane of traffic and the adjacent pedestrian walkway (south side walkway) of the St. Claude Avenue Bridge. This closure is associated with the construction of a new guide wall adjacent to the bridge.
Expect potential delays on the RTA No. 88-St. Claude bus, contact the RTA Rideline at (504) 248-3900 for further information. This closure will not impact the westbound roadway or the north pedestrian walkway (near the Lock) and the bridge will operate normally for marine traffic.
Public safety is the City's top priority; residents and commuters are reminded to use caution when driving, bicycling and walking near the construction site. Lane closure and detour signs will be in place throughout this phase of construction.
For questions regarding the guide wall construction project, please contact Ricky Boyett with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Ricky.D.Boyett@usace.army.mil or 504-862-2201.
