NEW ORLEANS — On Saturday, Nov. 5, 2016, the City of New Orleans alongside the New Orleans Pelicans, RPM Pizza, MetroPCS and PlayNOLA will continue Season 13 of NOLA FOR LIFE Midnight Basketball, a program that focuses on providing safe recreational activity, jobs and opportunities in crime hot spots for males over 16 years old through basketball, mentorship and support.

City, StayLocal Release New Road Construction Toolkit for New Orleans Businesses

NEW ORLEANS – Today, the City of New Orleans in partnership with StayLocal, released a Road Construction Toolkit for New Orleans Businesses. The toolkit features important contact information, practical tips and technical assistance so businesses can continue to thrive during road construction. At this time, the City is gearing up a $2.4 billion capital improvement program to repair and rebuild 400 miles of roads and subsurface infrastructure.

NEW ORLEANS – Today, Mayor Mitch Landrieu announced he has nominated international leader and New Orleans native Walter Isaacson to the City Planning Commission. The Planning Commission provides analysis and recommendations to the City Council on matters dealing with the present and future development of the City, in accordance with the goals and policies of the Master Plan.

Parking Instructions and Traffic Restrictions for Events This Weekend, Oct. 28-30, 2016

NEW ORLEANS – Today, the City of New Orleans issued parking instructions and reminders in advance of events scheduled for Friday, Oct. 28 through Sunday, Oct. 30, 2016. The public is encouraged to be patient and to prepare for heavy vehicular and pedestrian traffic in the specified areas by making transportation arrangements accordingly.
