Mayor Mitch Landrieu to Break Ground on Fleur De Lis Drive Road Construction Project

NEW ORLEANS – TOMORROW, Mayor Mitch Landrieu will join City and State Official, and community stakeholders to break ground on the $11.8 million Fleur De Lis Drive road construction project. Fleur De Lis Drive, along with much of the infrastructure in New Orleans, was severely damaged by Hurricane Katrina. The construction will stretch from Old Hammond Highway to 30th Street. The City will also begin a $2.4 million road construction project near the Youth Study Center.

NORDC Hosts 2017 Movies in the Park Series

NEW ORLEANS — The New Orleans Recreation Development Commission (NORDC) will host its 2017 spring season of Movies in the Park, featuring family-friendly, outdoor movie screenings at NORDC parks and playgrounds.  This season, each film screening will have an alternate, indoor location in case of inclement weather.

Traffic Advisory: St. Charles Avenue (Louisiana Avenue – Third Street)

NEW ORLEANS — On Thursday, Mar. 9 beginning at 7:30 a.m., the City of New Orleans construction contractor, Boh Bros. Construction, LLC, will begin a series of lane closures in order to accommodate work on St. Charles Avenue. The first closure, the eastbound low lane (sidewalk side) of St. Charles Avenue from Louisiana Avenue to Third Street, will last for approximately one week.

Mayor Mitch Landrieu and City Officials Break Ground on Nora Navra Library

NEW ORLEANS – Today, Mayor Landrieu joined District D Councilmember Jared Brossett and City and State officials to break ground on the new Nora Navra Library (1902 St. Bernard Avenue). The original 2,500 square foot library was constructed in 1954 and was severely damaged during Hurricane Katrina. The new library will be 7,800 square feet and will cost over $3.3 million.
