Groundbreaking scheduled for historic Circle Food Store

January 14, 2013

NEW ORLEANS, LA–Today, Mayor Mitch Landrieu will host a groundbreaking ceremony for the Circle Food Store, the historic Treme market closed since being damaged by flooding following Hurricane Katrina. The $8 million project is funded in part by the New Orleans Fresh Food Retailer Initiative, a program designed to increase access to fresh foods in traditionally underserved neighborhoods. The Circle Food Store is owned by New Orleans native Dwayne Boudreaux.
