NEW ORLEANS, LA—Today, the Mayor’s Office of Cultural Economy issued a filming notice to New Orleans residents.
On Thursday, July 11th, a production company will be filming scenes at the intersection of Magazine and Natchez Streets from approximately 8am to 8pm and at the intersection of Magazine and Poydras Street from approximately 6pm to 8pm.
Uniformed officers will provide intermittent traffic control during filming hours on Magazine Street at Gravier Street and on Natchez Street at Picayune Place from approximately 8:00am to 4:00pm, as well as, on Poydras Street at Magazine Street in both river bound and lake bound directions from approximately 6pm to 8pm.
From approximately 10am to 2pm, filming will include a controlled explosion on Natchez Street at Magazine. Uniformed officers and fire personnel will be present at all times to ensure public safety.
Film New Orleans assists productions with the City’s permitting process, connects productions with local crew and resources, and facilitates communication between productions and the local community.
In 2012, New Orleans hosted 61 tax credit film projects (TV, films and commercials with budgets over $300,000), with direct spending of $669.8 million. In 2011, the City hosted 46 tax credit projects with an estimated $544 million in direct spending.
