NEW ORLEANS, LA-- Today, Mayor Mitch Landrieu and Seattle Mayor Ed Murray entered into a friendly wager on Saturday’s NFL playoff game between the New Orleans Saints and the Seattle Seahawks. The bet promises a package of hometown products to the city with the winning football team.
“The Who Dat nation is fired up for Saturday’s playoff game between our Saints and the Seahawks,” said Mayor Landrieu. “We’ve got a strong team that mirrors our city’s strong culture, including our famous King Cake and cuisine. But this time around, we don’t plan on sending any of our goods Seattle’s way because the Saints are sure to come out of this game on top.”
Each Mayor’s wager includes an assortment of items for which are unique to the city they lead.
Mayor Landrieu’s wager includes King Cake from Sucre, a premiere artisanal New Orleans confectioner. In addition, New Orleans’ own Chef and restaurateur Greg Reggio, will host a crawfish boil to the tunes of one of the city’s famous brass bands.
Mayor Murray’s wager includes doughnuts from Top Pot Doughnuts, Seattle’s renowned doughnut bakery.
Both mayors look forward to joining their residents in cheering on their local football teams.
