NEW ORLEANS, LA – Today, the Mayor’s Office of Cultural Economy issued filming notices to New Orleans residents in the Central Business District (CBD).
On Monday, May 12, 2014 and Tuesday, May 13, 2014 between 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. (weather dependent), a production company will be filming exterior scenes at Roosevelt Alley between the 100 block of Baronne Street and University Place. As a result, there will be intermittent traffic control on the intersections of Baronne and Canal Streets, Canal and University Streets, University and Common Streets, and Iberville and Dauphine Streets nightly. Canal Street will remain open to allow flow of traffic. Law enforcement will be on site to ensure public safety and to help facilitate the work.
Film New Orleans within the Mayor’s Office of Cultural Economy assists productions with the City’s permitting process, connects productions with local crew and resources, and facilitates communication between productions and the local community.
In 2013, New Orleans hosted 60 tax credit film projects (TV, films, and commercials with budgets over $300,000), with direct spending of $456 million.
