Four Inch Natural Gas Line Struck, One Block Radius Evacuated

December 12, 2013

On December 12, 2013 at 1:17 pm, the New Orleans Fire Department responded to a 911 call placed by a resident in the 2500 block of Jefferson Avenue.  The B & K construction company was working on the median moving a large slab of concrete when the excavator struck a four inch natural gas line. Residents in a one block radius of the incident were evacuated until the leak can be contained. Entergy is working to seal the leak.

There were no injuries.
