Three Alarm Fire Destroys Vacant Townhouse in New Orleans East

New Orleans, LA. – Tuesday, July 02, 2013 at 3:09 in the afternoon, the New Orleans Fire Department (NOFD) was dispatched on a call reporting a dwelling on fire 6060 Boeing Dr. in New Orleans East. The first company arrived on the scene at 3:13 p.m. finding a two-story, unoccupied townhouse fully involved with connected exposures to the left and others in the rear of the initial fire building.

New Orleans, LA. – Monday night, July 1, 2013 at 8:17 p.m. the New Orleans Fire Department (NOFD) began receiving several 911 calls reporting heavy smoke and fire being sighted throughout the Carrollton and Gert-Town area of uptown New Orleans.

The New Orleans Fire Department (NOFD) responded to an Emergency Medical Service (EMS) call for assistance stating a man was trapped under a concrete barrier near the corner of Toulouse and Dorgenois Street.

13 Year Old Sets House on Fire Playing with Lighter

Saturday, May 18, 2013 at 4:37 pm, the New Orleans Fire Department received a 911 call from a 13 year old child who said he was playing with a lighter and the house was now on fire.

Mild Explosion in UNO Lab

On Friday, May 17, 2013 at 2:45 pm, the New Orleans Fire Department received a call from the University of New Orleans Campus Police Department. A vial containing a mixture of undetermined acids had a buildup of gases and exploded.

Today, the City of New Orleans announced that New Orleans Fire Department Superintendent Charles Parent is retiring this summer. Parent, who has been on medical leave, will remain Superintendent at this time and will serve until a replacement is chosen

One Year Old Injured at Two-Alarm Fire

Friday morning, April 12, 2013 a mother and four children were alerted by a neighbor allowing them to escape a two alarm fire at 1316, 1318 Teche Street, resulting in a one-year old being transported by EMS to a local hospital for smoke inhalation.

Early Morning Fire at Magnolia Villa Displaces 38 Residents

Wednesday, April 10, 2013, the New Orleans Fire Department responded to an alarm at 1801 Magnolia Street. The first arriving company reported smoke showing and requested additional units. Firefighters evacuated 38 residents and traced the origin of the fire to a mattress in one of the apartments.

Workers Injured During Building Collapse at 1300 Gov. Nichols

Four workers were treated and transported to area hospitals after home they were attempting to raise collapsed.
