Jeremy Youngblood 21, was booked with Armed Robbery, Resisting An Officer by Flight and other charges after he robbed a business at gunpoint. The incident occurred 7-1-14 in the 3100 block of Saint Claude Avenue at approximately 8:25 P.M.
Jeremy Youngblood entered the business and demanded money. The cashiers complied and as the suspect was exiting the store, a Police Officer gave verbal commands to stop at which time he dropped the bag of money and fled in a vehicle.
Officers responding to the scene spotted the vehicle fleeing and chased the vehicle to the area of the 4200 block of Urqhart Street. The suspect stopped the vehicle, exited and fled on foot armed with a handgun. A perimeter was set up and the suspect was apprehended without incident hiding under a house in the 4200 block of Urqhart Street by our SOD Canine Unit.
Officers found the gun and other evidence used in the incident.
Through the course of the interview, the suspect confessed to the Robbery and was booked with Armed Robbery, Resisting An Officer by Flight, Firearm Used In A Robbery and Illegal Possession of a Firearm.
