New Orleans Police have arrested 21-year-old Lynette Carter for the murder of a 45-year-old man. The name of the victim is being withheld pending notification of family members. The incident occurred shortly after midnight in the 4000 block of Eden Street.
Officers responded to a call of a man stabbed, and upon their arrival, the victim was located inside his residence suffering from a single stab wound to his body. The man was pronounced dead on the scene.
A preliminary investigation indicates that the victim and Carter became involved in an altercation when Carter armed herself with a knife and stabbed the victim. Carter remained on scene and confessed to police.
Lynette Carter was booked with Second Degree Murder.
