(April 27, 2014) New Orleans Police Fatality Section is investigating a fatality that left a 45-year-old male motorcyclist dead. The accident occurred just after 1am at the intersection of Saint Claude and Franklin Avenue.
The cyclist was travelling east on Saint Claude Ave, when for reasons unknown he ran the traffic light and collided with a black Acura who was travelling westbound on Franklin Ave. The cyclist was pronounced dead on the scene. The driver of the Acura was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
No charges have been filed.
Fatality Investigator Richard Blackman is in charge of the investigation.
