Hours of Operation

Monday through Friday 10pm to 9pm
Saturday 9am-2pm
Sunday Closed

The Treme Recreation Community Center pool and gym are closed for repairs. details here.  The rest of the center is open for classes and activities.

Free ride to/from Adult Water Aerobics at the
Joe W. Brown Indodor Pool

Hop on a bus at Treme Monday-Friday, that departs at 5:15 pm for the Joe W. Brown Pool, 5601 Read Blvd.  After the 6pm Adult Water Aerobics class, the shuttle returns to Treme.  

For a list of other pool locations, click here.  The closest NORDC gym is 2.5 miles away at St. Bernard Rec Center, 1500 Lafreniere St, New Orleans, LA 70122. The hours are Monday-Friday 4pm-9pm and Saturday 9am-2pm.

Treme Homecoming Art Classes 
Free Intermediate & Advanced classes for grades K-8
Tuesdays and Thursdays, 3:30-5:30 through August 2014  
Instructors: Acclaimed artists Jamar Pierre external link and Ivan B. Watkins external link

Students participate in art and mural design classes along with cultural & educational workshops. They learn how to research, document & depict the history of Treme & Treme Center with elders and artists in the community. All student work will be exhibited.

Join Artists  Ivan B. Watkins external link and Jamar Pierre external link for a series of free community art workshops. Learn more about painting, drawing, mural design, the history & culture of Treme, and contribute to a work of public art that will be installed at the Treme Center this summer! Featured speakers include Gina Montana, the Sudan Social Aid & Pleasure Club, Big Chief Victor Harris of FiYiYi and more!

Spanish Language Workshop

August 12 & 13, 4:30-6:30pm at the Treme Rec Center

Spanish Classes are now full. The list is closed. Interested Orleans Parish residents should check back throughout the calendar year for more language opportunities.


After one 2-hour class, you’ll have a handful of conversational phrases and term to use in everyday life.  Plus you’ll get resources for additional instruction.  Presented in partnership with Puentes New Orleans.

Ages 6 and older.  Limit 15 people per class. First come, first serve.  Free for Orleans Parish residents.
