NORDC/NOBA Senior Dance Fitness Program
NORDC on the Road to the Olympics!
... The New Orleans area Senior Olympics, that is. Our "Sassy Seniors" and "Jazzy Seniors" representing the NORDC/NOBA CFD Senior Dance Fitness Program are competing in the New Orleans Senior Olympics! The event is Saturday, March 22 at 1:30pm at the Harahan Playground (Soniat Gym), 6601 10th Street, Harahan, LA 70123. To see photos our award winning teams from 2013, click here.
Through extraordinary support provided by Chevron, the NORDC/NOBA Center for Dance is proud to ofer the award-winning Senior Dance Fitness Program. Men and women ages 55+ are invited to join in for sessions to include stretching, cardio and dance, fun music, and healthy eating and lifestyle education. Other program features include performance opportunities, access to special master workshops, social events, and $5 tickets to select NOBA Main Stage presentations.

Swim lessons, adult lap swimming, and water aerobics are offered year round at two indoor pools (Treme and Joe W. Brown). For the schedule, click here. Additional classes and activites are held at outdoor pools across the city that are open only during the summer.

Drop in anytime on this fun and invigorating and fun class! Teddy Harkness, the jovial instructor, leads the class through cardio moves and core strengthing exercises. Participants are encouraged to go at their own pace. The class schedule is below. Click on each Rec Center link for the address and other information.

Zachary Ramsey III's leads this African Kemetic Yoga, a healing practice that combines controlled deep breathing and physical movements.
Cut-Off Tuesday 7-9pm
Drop in anytime for this fun dance class featuring choreographed sequences of steps that are repeated.
Cut-Off Tuesday 6-7pm and 7-9
$5 per class for 15 and older; free for 14 and younger.
