Property Tax Research

For property owners

Property owners with questions about payment errors, missing payments, misapplied payments, and/or property tax refunds, should contact the Tax Research Unit at taxresearchunit@nola.gov or (504) 658-1712.

For tax servicers, mortgage companies, banks, abstractors

The Bureau of Treasury no longer provides tax information to tax servicers, mortgage companies, banks, abstractors, or the like via phone, e-mail, fax, or postal mail.  This includes, but is not limited to, delinquent tax questions, confirming tax payments, and verification of refunds.  Those requesting the information must hire an abstractor to perform the research in our office or review the available tax rolls posted online.

The 2017-2022 tax rolls are available online and include the base tax amount billed, homestead exemption amount, and other pertinent information that would be included on the tax bill.  The 2020 and 2021 rolls are not in tax bill number order, but you will find the parcel you are looking for by using the Find (Ctrl+F) function and entering the parcel ID/parcel address.

These resources together can be used to determine the amount of tax paid for each respective year.

Additionally, the Orleans Parish Assessor's website will indicate change orders for refunds for either homestead exemptions or reductions of assessments.  You may find that information at nolaassessor.com.

To determine if there is a delinquent balance, you may search by tax bill number or property address.
