Please note:

  • All cases filed using the NOPD Online will be reviewed.
  • All cases which involve firearms cannot be reported online, please contact (504) 821-2222.
  • Upon review, if further investigation of your case is needed, you may be contacted.
  • Filing a false police report is a crime.

Upon completion of your report:

  • You will be given a police report case number.
  • You will be able to download a copy of the police report to keep for your records.

Is Online Reporting Right for You?

Online reporting is appropriate when:

  • The incident is NOT an emergency
  • The incident occurred within Orleans Parish
  • There are NO known suspects (you don't know who committed the crime or their vehicle information)
  • The incident does NOT involve firearms

What to Expect

After submitting your report:

  • You'll receive an official police report case number immediately
  • You can download and print your report for your records
  • Your report will be reviewed by NOPD
