Follow Domestic Violence Reporting Protocols (Form 46)

   • Self-defense considerations
   • Future threat assessment
   • Impact on any minors present
   • Prior domestic violence history
3. Documentation Requirements: Lists all forms officers must complete:
   • Domestic Violence Supplemental page
   • Official Notice to Adult Victims of Family Violence
   • Rights of Crime Victims and Witnesses information
   • Documentation Chart for Attempted Strangulation Cases (when applicable)
   • LAVNS (Louisiana Victim Notification System) form
4. Victim Safety Protocols: Specifies officer responsibilities to:
   • Separate parties before conducting interviews
   • Inform victims of protection order options
   • Connect victims with community resources
   • Assist with medical treatment
   • Provide transportation to a safe location
