Inspections

Inspections are required for all building, electrical, and mechanical permits issued by the Department of Safety and Permits. Depending on the scope of work approved by the Department of Safety and Permits, an inspection or multiple inspections shall be required as the work progresses.

Schedule your Inspections

Inspections can only be requested once a permit status is "Issued". Contractors can schedule inspections by emailing the following information to inspections@nola.gov:

  • Point of Contact Name
  • Phone number
  • Address of the property
  • Permit Number
  • Type of inspection being requested

Once the inspection request has been processed, the inspection status will update to reflect that the request has been received. Applicants should monitor the One Stop App for updates to the inspection status. In the event the inspection request cannot be scheduled at the requested time, staff will advise what elements need to be resolved or satisfied prior to scheduling approval.

Third-Party Service Provider Inspections

Contractors can request an inspection provided by a Third-Party Service Provider (a non-city inspector). These inspections require review of submitted photographs and inspection notes by the City prior to their approval. Third-Party Service Provider may charge separate fees.
