City to break ground on new NOPD Fifth District Police Station

New Orleans--Tomorrow, Mayor Mitch Landrieu, NOPD Superintendent Ronal Serpas, City Councilmembers, City Officials and FEMA will break ground on the new NOPD Fifth District Police Station at 3900 North Claiborne Avenue. The new 17,600 square foot police station will support hundreds of officers and provide critical support to the St. Claude and Lower Ninth Ward communities. The total cost of construction is $7.2 million, with funding coming from FEMA public assistance, insurance and City bonds.
