NEW ORLEANS, LA — Today, the City of New Orleans issued parking instructions and reminders in advance of the French Market’s Annual Creole Tomato Festival and the 2013 Louisiana Cajun-Zydeco Festival, both to be held this weekend Saturday, June 8 and Sunday, June 9, 2013 in the French Quarter.
FRENCH MARKET’S ANNUAL CREOLE TOMATO FESTIVAL
Beginning at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, June 7 to 9:00 p.m. Sunday, June 9, French Market Place between Barracks Street and Ursulines Avenue and Gov. Nicholls Street between French Market Place and Decatur Street will be closed.
2013 LOUISIANA CAJUN-ZYDECO FESTIVAL
Beginning at 4:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 8 to 11:00 p.m. Sunday, June 9, the riverbound lane of Esplanade Avenue between Decatur Street and North Peters Street and the upbound lane of North Peters between Barracks Street and Esplanade Avenue will be closed.
Parking enforcement personnel will be monitoring for illegal parking, including blocking hydrants, driveways and sidewalks, or parking within 20 feet of a crosswalk, intersection or stop signs. Motorists are also reminded to park in the direction of travel on one-way streets, and with the right wheel to the curb on two-way streets.
