NEW ORLEANS, LA — Beginning Wednesday, June 19th, seven colorful quilts with messages about the effects of bullying will be on public display in the City Hall lobby. The quilts were created by local students as part of an anti-bullying initiative sponsored by the New Orleans chapter of The Links, Inc., a women’s service organization.
The Links encouraged students to submit quilts using the theme “Bullying and Trash Talking: It’s No Joke!” Selected quilts will be on display in various locations in the City throughout the summer and fall of 2013.
Quilts that will be on display at City Hall are from students at Bethune Elementary, Milestone SABIS Academy, Mount Carmel Academy, Lusher Elementary School, Audubon Charter School and Ashe Cultural Arts Center.
The 2 feet by 2 feet quilts will be on display through October 18th during normal City Hall hours, normal business hours, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
