City issues filming notice

August 21, 2013

NEW ORLEANS, LA—Today, the Mayor’s Office of Cultural Economy issued a filming notice to New Orleans businesses and residents in the Central Business District.

On Thursday, August 22nd through Friday, August 23rd, a production company will be filming scenes on areas of Baronne Street that will impact the normal flow of traffic.

During the hours of 12 p.m. and 4 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, traffic will be reduced on Baronne Street between Julia Street and St. Joseph Street from two lanes to one lane, with streets reopening between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. Following, there will be a complete street closure on the 800 block of Baronne Street between 6 p.m. and 4 a.m. Starting at 9 a.m. on both days, 18-wheeler traffic will be rerouted from Poydras Street to another through street with the directions of police officers.

Uniformed police officers will be posted at the intersections to assist with efficient traffic flow.

Film New Orleans assists productions with the City’s permitting process, connects productions with local crew and resources, and facilitates communication between productions and the local community.
