Mayor Landrieu, elected officials and community stakeholders to commemorate transfer of New Orleans ferry system's operations to Veolia Transportation

NEW ORLEANS, LA – On Tuesday, February 18, 2014, Mayor Mitch Landrieu will join members of the New Orleans City Council, Regional Planning Commission officials, and community stakeholders to commemorate the transfer of the New Orleans ferry system’s operations to Veolia Transportation from the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development and to announce the new fare collection structure. Veolia Transportation commenced ferry operations on Sunday, February 16, 2014. Fare collection will be implemented at a later date; riders will be notified in advance. Veolia Transportation operates the transit system in New Orleans including bus, streetcar, and paratransit services.
