Boil Water Advisory for NOLA East Bank

The Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans, in conjunction with the Louisiana Department of Health (LDH), has lifted the precautionary boil water advisory for the East bank of Orleans Parish. Bacteriological tests confirmed that water in the area is safe to drink and can be used for personal needs.

City Issues Reminder of Parking Instructions and Traffic Rescrictions in Advance of The Lake Area High School 5k Fun Walk/Run

NEW ORLEANS, LA – Today, the City of New Orleans issued parking instructions and reminders in advance of the Lake Area High School 5K Fun Walk/Parade scheduled for Saturday, March 22, 2014. 

The Lake Area High School 5K Fun Walk/Parade will begin at 8:00 a.m. starting at 6026 Paris Avenue, proceeding to Robert E. Lee Boulevard, turn left and proceed to Wisner Boulevard, turn left and proceed to Mirabeau Avenue, turn left and proceed to Paris Avenue, turn left and proceed to 6026 Paris Avenue where the event will disband.

Parking enforcement personnel will be monitoring for illegal parking, including blocking hydrants, driveways and sidewalks, or parking within 20 feet of a crosswalk, intersection or stop signs. Motorists are also reminded to park in the direction of travel on one-way streets, and with the right wheel to the curb on two-way streets.
