NEW ORLEANS – On Monday, Jan. 15, 2018, Mayor Mitch Landrieu, Governor John Bel Edwards, Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday Planning Commission members and other special guests will host a program at the Historic A.L. Davis Park for the City’s annual MLK Day celebration.
Following the program, the 32nd Annual Memorial MLK March will begin the nearly 1.5-mile route. Marchers will go down Washington Avenue. The parade will then turn on to South Claiborne Avenue and will head towards the Martin Luther King, Jr. Monument on S. Claiborne Avenue and Felicity Street then turn on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard to Oretha Castle Haley Boulevard where the parade will end. Following the parade, the City will host the first ever Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Block Party.
