Solar for All NOLA

In January, Mayor LaToya Cantrell announced the creation of Solar for All NOLA, a clean-energy initiative available to all New Orleans homeowners and small businesses through the financial and resiliency benefits of rooftop solar. The program is a year-long campaign which underscores Mayor Cantrell’s commitment to reduce energy costs for lower-income families and those on fixed incomes, while creating quality jobs and making New Orleans more climate resilient.

Community Partners

Solar for All NOLA will be led by the Greater New Orleans Housing Alliance (GNOHA), a local nonprofit that has been a tireless advocate for affordable housing — including affordable energy bills — for New Orleans’ most vulnerable working families and retirees. GNOHA will work with two respected local solar businesses — PosiGen Solar and Solar Alternatives — to provide free solar evaluations to all homeowners and small business owners interested in seeing if clean energy can save them money on their utility bills.

Free Remote Solar Evaluation and $100 Gift Card Through The Summer

In-home air quality can make a drastic change in comfort and health for many New Orleanians spending more time being “Safest at Home”. Energy efficiency work can make homes more comfortable, reduces stress on airconditioning units, and improves raspatory health for many suffering with asthma and allergy irritants. Energy inequality is a high priority for Mayor Cantrell who encourages homeowners and small business to get free remote solar and energy efficiency evaluations through the City’s 2020 Solar for All NOLA initiative. The program is led by the Greater New Orleans Housing Alliance (“GNOHA”) in partnership with two local solar companies, PosiGen and Solar Alternatives.

New customers are eligible for $100 gift card upon home’s confirmed solar feasibility and system installation. For a free safe remote solar home and/or business assessment, interested residents are invited to contact PosiGen and Solar Alternatives teams directly, or the GNOHA staff for further assistance and inquiries:
