Policy Change: Variance Application Pre-Application Requirement

Effective May 10, 2024, at 5:01 pm*

Beginning May 10, 2024, at 5:01 pm, all prospective variance applicants must first file a building permit application with the Department of Safety and Permits and obtain a zoning review specifying needed variances prior to submitting a variance application to the Board of Zoning Adjustments.

The April 10 DAC meeting, which was cancelled due to severe weather, is rescheduled for Wednesday, April 17 at 10 a.m.  It will be held in Conference Room A on the seventh floor of City Hall, 1300 Perdido Street.

CPC Now Accepting Certain Land Use Applications for STRs

The District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana has issued its ruling on the ongoing legal challenge to short-term rental ordinances in New Orleans. The City’s ordinances have largely been upheld and the Temporary Restraining Order/injunction has been lifted. City Planning Commission will now accept CONDITIONAL USE, SPECIAL EXCEPTION and IZD APPEAL applications for STRs and B&Bs.
