Compliance Division
The Compliance Division was created in by the Department of Code Enforcement to help people understand code violations and what they need to do to fix them. The codes come from the Minimum Property Maintenance section of Chapter 26 in the city code.
Noncompliance and Compliance: What Do They Mean?
Noncompliance means violation of Chapter 26 of the Minimum Property Maintenance code. A noncompliant property has been cited by a Code Enforcement inspector for violations and/or has a history of community complaints or a code case history.
Compliance means no violation of Chapter 26 of the Minimum Property Maintenance code. A compliant property either has no violations or the owner or interested party has fixed existing violations.
Noticing
A Notice of Noncompliance is sent to the property owner(s) detailing violations, code and contact info, a diagram showing the general location where violations may be located. A period of three weeks is given to fix violations. If more time is needed, the owner can request more time.
If you received a notice and wish to request more time to comply, contact us.
