Section 3

Section 3 is a provision of the Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Act of 1968 (12 U.S.C. 1701u). The purpose of Section 3 is to ensure that, to the greatest extent feasible, employment and other economic opportunities generated by HUD financial assistance for housing and community development program

NDRC Grant Information

The National Disaster Resilience Competition (NDRC) grant, awarded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), provided New Orleans with $141.3 million to support recovery from past disasters and enhance resilience against future extreme events.

Registry of Community Organizations

The Office of Community Development administers federal grants to community-based organizations to assess, develop, and implement programs to address priority needs of the Consolidated Plan.

Programs and Funding

OCD manages federal grant money given to New Orleans by distributing funds to local service providers and affordable housing developers to assist low to moderate income individuals and families.
