The City of New Orleans - Office of Housing Policy and Community Development (OCD) provides Citizens the opportunity to participate and comment on the development of the following required plans submitted to Housing and Urban Development (HUD):
The Consolidated Plan describes the CNO’s affordable housing and community development priorities through a five (5) multi-year plan. The Consolidated Plan is consistent with the City and HANO’s ‘Assessment of Fair Housing Plan (AFH) and works closely with housing and community development sub-recipients to achieve OCD’s goals of building and preserving affordable housing initiatives and providing community development services to citizens. The Annual Action Plan (AAP) is the (1) one-year plan of the Consolidated Plan that serves as the CNO’s annual application to HUD to receive Community Planning Development grant funding. The AAP includes the amount of assistance the CNO receives in the form of four (4) HUD formula grants. The AAP describes specific activities and projects to be implemented during the fiscal year, as well as actions to be undertaken to achieve the City’s goal to provide quality affordable housing and community development services to the citizens of New Orleans.
