December 1, 2024 | From City of New Orleans
On Tuesday, December 17th, the Mayor’s Neighborhood Engagement Office (NEO) held its third annual Neighborhood Cares Holiday Toy Giveaway at the Milne Rec Center, a community initiative to help Orleans Parish families prepare for the Christmas holiday.
At the event, over 1,000 toys were given to kids ages 4-12 and 300 books. This event is NEO’s sixth installment of its “Neighborhood Cares Initiative” this year.
NEO was proud to partner with Mayor LaToya Cantrell, District D Councilmember Eugene Green, Dream Builders Foundation, Starbucks, National Pan Hellenic Council of Greater New Orleans, Lamar Advertising and New Orleans Saints' star Rashid Shaheed to make this event a HUGE SUCCESS!!!!! Special thanks to NOPD and our volunteers.
