All In Treme Back to School Fair
As NEO’s fourth installment of its “Neighborhood Cares Initiative” this year, the Mayor’s Neighborhood Engagement Office (NEO) held its largest Back-To-School Fair to date on this past Friday, August 1st, at the Treme Rec Center, an impactful community initiative designed to help students prepare for the upcoming school year. The event drew thousands of residents for a day filled with resources.

At the event, over 2,500 backpacks and school supplies were given to students. Over 500 boys and girls received free haircuts and hairstyles from our barbers and beauticians who generously donated their time and talents. Over 3,000 people received free hot meals from several food vendors. Furthermore, dozens of students received free laptops donated by Starbucks.
Free snowballs were provided as a tasty way for kids and parents to cool down in the summer heat. Students also had the opportunity to enjoy a game truck offering a variety of gaming consoles, including PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch.
Mayor LaToya Cantrell and NEO were proud to partner with District C Councilmember Freddie King, Starbucks, NORDC, One Heart NOLA, Lamar Advertising, Asepsis Barbershop, Aveda Arts & Sciences Institute New Orleans, Hair Kingdom Nola, Mama's Beauty Supply, Ebone Hair and Beauty, Cocoally Art and Apparel, and community leaders across New Orleans to make this impactful event possible. Special thanks to NOPD, Property Management, and our volunteers.
A very special thanks to Starbucks for serving as a major sponsor, whose generous support helped deliver a meaningful and memorable experience to thousands of families
