Saturday, June 8, 2024

On Saturday, June 8, 2024, the Neighborhood Engagement Office hosted its 2nd Quarter Neighborhood Leaders’ Roundtable at Lakeview Christian Center.
NEO gathered over 200 neighborhood leaders to discuss Public Safety with Police Superintendent Anne Kirkpatrick, Fire Superintendent Roman Nelson, and Director of Public Safety, John Thomas. Each speaker provided updates on their priorities and efforts, and all three speakers together provided answers to residents’ questions.
The hour-long question and answer period covered a variety of public safety topics including NOPD’s Traffic Division, ongoing reductions in violent crime, job opportunities with the police and fire departments, fire hydrants and NOFD’s use of technology, preparations for summer heat and large special events, and other topics. The 2nd Quarter Neighborhood Leaders’ Roundtable was very informative!
