Green Infrastructure Workforce and Business Development

The Green Infrastructure Workforce and Business Development Program provides reimbursable grants to address critical needs of green infrastructure workforce development training and apprenticeships to increase rates of employment in sustainable and resilient industries.

These funds are a portion of awarded Restore Louisiana's Resilient Communities Infrastructure Program (RCIP) purposed with improving resilient community planning, business growth, and economic recovery in New Orleans following storm impacts of 2020-2021. 

The New Orleans metro area saw some of the worst impacts from Hurricane Ida and its slow pace, prolonged winds, and storm surge on the southwestern side of Lake Pontchartrain caused widespread flooding, which was worsened by heavy rainfall. The City is building on prior initiatives to cultivate the local workforce training ecosystem for green infrastructure.

    • Correct, only non-profits are eligible to apply.
    • Section E.1.i.: Proposals will be accepted from non-profits (with 501c3 status)
  • Is the Appendix G: Conflict of Interest Disclosure Affidavit form for applicants as they seem to be a city internal document? 
    • Appendix G: Conflict of Interest Disclosure Affidavit is a city internal document of attestation and not for applicants to submit. Please disregard when submitting applications.
  • Is this a cost reimbursement grant?
    • Yes, this grant is a cost reimbursement grant with a 45 day net pay schedule. 
  • Why aren't participant costs included in this grant?
    • This grant opportunity was designed strategically to direct funds closely to activities and participant costs were assessed to be minimal. 
  • Can you clarify whether the requirements for the proposal are 1 year and a minimum of 75 people trained?
    • The whole grant program is designed to train a minimum of 75 individuals cumulatively across all awarded participant organizations. Performance subjective extensions are possible past the initial one-year agreements. 
    • Section F.3.i.: The project should begin upon execution of an agreement with the City of New Orleans. Initial agreements will be for one-year with the opportunity for an extension subject to grantee performance.
