The Ethics Review Board, authorized by the City of New Orleans Code of Ordinances, is tasked with upholding and enforcing the City's Code of Ethics. Our mission is to promote and maintain high ethical standards among all city officials and employees, whether elected, appointed, or hired. This commitment to integrity extends to all boards, agencies, commissions, advisory committees, public trusts, and public benefit corporations of the City.

Overview of Deparmtent Services
The Ethics Review Board appoints and oversees the Office of the Inspector General and the Office of Independant Police Monitor and screens, reviews, investigates, and prosecutes alleged city of code of ethics violations.
Our Structure:
1.Board Members The ERB consists of seven dedicated volunteers serving staggered seven-year terms. Six members are nominated by local university leaders and one by the mayor, with all appointments subject to City Council approval. These diverse perspectives ensure a well-rounded approach to ethical governance.
2.Staff Supporting our board is a team of professionals led by our Executive Administrator and General Counsel, Dane S. Ciolino. Our staff works diligently to implement the Board's decisions and maintain the day-to-day operations of the ERB.
