Awards

The City of New Orleans Ethics Review Board established an ethics awards program in December 2018 to recognize outstanding commitment to ethical practices. The program features two distinct award.

Liaison Award

  • Awarded annually
  • Recognizes ethics liaisons whose departments meet minimum compliance qualifications
  • Highlights the importance of maintaining ethical standards across city departments

Torch Award

  • Awarded annually
  • Based on applications reviewed by an independent community panel
  • Celebrates exceptional commitment to ethics in city government

Torch Award Criteria: The nominee should demonstrate:

  1. A clear commitment to ethics through communications and actions
  2. Implementation of ethical standards within their department, board, or commission
  3. Effective communication of ethical expectations to employees
  4. Proactive approaches to addressing ethical issues
  5. Practical application of ethics in challenging situations
  6. Innovative approaches to promoting ethics in their area of responsibility

How to Apply:

  • Applications are welcome from all city departments, boards, and commissions
  • Deadline: July 1st each year
