Awards

The City of New Orleans Ethics Review Board established an ethics awards program in December 2018 to recognize outstanding commitment to ethical practices. The program features two distinct awards.

Liaison Award

The Ethics Liaison Award is an annual award given by the New Orleans Ethics Review Board in recognition of ethics compliance within the departments and agencies of New Orleans city government.

Torch Award

The Torch Award for Excellence in Ethics is an annual award given by the New Orleans Ethics Review Board in recognition of outstanding commitment to promoting ethical culture within city government and on city boards and commissions.

Torch Award Criteria:

The nominee should demonstrate:

  1. A clear commitment to ethics through communications and actions
  2. Implementation of ethical standards within their department, board, or commission
  3. Effective communication of ethical expectations to employees
  4. Proactive approaches to addressing ethical issues
  5. Practical application of ethics in challenging situations
  6. Innovative approaches to promoting ethics in their area of responsibility

How to Apply:

  • Applications are welcome from all city departments, boards, and commissions
  • Deadline: November 1st of each year
  • Submit applications to: Jordy.Stiggs@Nola.gov

These awards aim to recognize and encourage ethical excellence in New Orleans' government, promoting a culture of integrity and transparency.
