Filing a Complaint with the Ethics Review Board (ERB)

We welcome your input in maintaining ethical standards in our city government. To file a complaint:

Anonymity Option: When using the form, you can choose "Anonymous Complainant" if you prefer not to disclose your identity.

Whistleblower Protection: Public employees are protected from reprisal when reporting suspected violations of ordinances, statutes, policies, orders, rules, regulations, or other ethical mandates. This protection is ensured by the New Orleans Municipal Code, Division 3. Code of Ethics, Subdivision 3 § 2-772 (a).

Complaint Handling Process: The Board may investigate any matter it believes could violate laws within its jurisdiction, including reports from the Inspector General. After review, the Board may:

• Close the file
• Refer the matter for investigation
• Take other appropriate action
