Purpose

The Economic Development Advisory Committee advises and assists the Mayor by making recommendations for appropriations from the economic development fund.   

Composition

Eleven members.

  • One member appointed by the New Orleans City Council
  • The Mayor appoints ten members with the approval of the City Council
    • Three members are exclusive appointees of the Mayor
    • Seven members appointed by the Mayor from the nominations of the organizations listed below. At least one member must be appointed from each list of nominations.
      • New Orleans Asian Chamber of Commerce
      • New Orleans Hispanic Chamber of Commerce
      • New Orleans Regional Black Chamber of Commerce,
      • New Orleans Chamber of Commerce
      • The Collaborative
