Purpose

The mission of the Housing Authority of New Orleans is to provide affordable housing opportunities for low-income residents of the city of New Orleans, while laying the foundation for economic sustainability.

Composition

Eight Members appointed as follows:

• Two tenant commissioners chosen from a list of three names for each vacancy submitted by the Citywide Tenants Council, Inc. of the housing authority to the president of City Council
• One landlord commissioner appointed by the Mayor from a list of three nominees
• Five members appointed by the Mayor
