Purpose

The New Orleans Redevelopment Authority works with public and private partners to redevelop and revitalize New Orleans neighborhoods. 

Composition

The Mayor appoints eleven members with the advice and consent of the City Council from a list of nominees submitted by each member of the legislature representing the City of New Orleans (each legislator submits one nominee from their district).

• Seven members are appointed so that there is one from each councilmanic district and two from the City at large.
• Four additional members are appointed from the city at large.

Term Length

Five years.
