Purpose

The New Orleans Regional AIDS Planning Council plans for the effective and efficient organization of HIV / AIDS services in the New Orleans eligible metropolitan area.  The Council assesses the HIV-related needs within the area, determines priority service needs, and allocates funds to the priority services. 

Composition

The Mayor appoints up to fifty members.  Thirty three percent of the board must be composed of HIV+ individuals who have no conflict of interest and are receiving services from a Ryan White Part A funded agency. 

Term Length

Two years.
