Kid's Meal Beverage Ordinance Complaints

The Healthy Kids’ Meal Beverage Ordinance took effect on January 1, 2023, and requires that restaurants in New Orleans that serve a children’s meal only offer plain water, nonfat or low fat unflavored milk, or 6.75 oz of 100% fruit juice, as the default beverages with any children’s meal.

Smoke-Free Ordinance

New Orleans has joined almost 700 cities nationwide in going smoke-free. In January 2015, the City of New Orleans created a comprehensive smoke-free ordinance. In addition to smoking restrictions that already exist under state law, the City places restrictions on smoking and vaping (use of electronic smoking devices) in many locations across New Orleans.
