If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, the Introduction to Computers and the Internet course is for you.

The 15-hour course offers a safe, supportive environment for City employees to learn basic computer skills and how to use the Internet to access education, career, and housing opportunities; perform their jobs faster and better; and connect to friends, family and new relationships.

Our curriculum addresses the following topics:

  • Introduction to computers and related equipment
  • Introduction to the Internet
  • Introduction to Microsoft Windows
  • Introduction to Microsoft Office and Google Suite productivity tools
  • Email and basic online research
  • Accessing online government resources: e.g. One Stop Shop or social security benefits
  • Accessing online local cultural resources

This course provides participants with the foundational skills needed for the
Word I - Basic and Excel I - Basic courses.
